Picnicking in Style...

Solent Rib Charter recently posted an awesome Blog on us...read on here:

This might not have been the summer we were expecting but it’s certainly ended up being a busy one thanks to our Bareboat clients. ‘Staycation’ has become a common theme this year, coupled with the uncommonly warm weather, people have been eager to make the most of their British summer out on the water.

Whilst our customers plan their days out exploring the Solent, one question we often get is what they should do for lunch. Firstly there is a number of different venues that we have spoken about previously in many of our past blogs. However with social distancing at the forefront of people’s minds, we’ve had many ask us for alternative options such as picnicking.

A new local company to us, set up this year, offers precisely that! They can deliver hampers and picnics of fresh, locally sourced produce to The Haven for your charter. Picnic packages range from ‘The Salterns’ which includes fresh lobster, dressed crab, locally smoked trout, and Hampshire sparkling wine, to their version of surf n’ turf ‘The Solent’ – with freshly caught lobster, rare fillet of beef and prawns. Their ‘Lymington’ picnic is jam packed with homemade sarnies, scones, scotch eggs and sausage rolls. They have magnums (and double magnums) of Aix-en-Provence rose, premier cru Burgundy white, beers and soft drinks available too.

All produce is sourced, made, and or cooked to order and delivered in refrigerated boxes, with plates, knives and forks, wine goblets for you (majority of which is made from plants, and fully compostable too.) How much easier could it be?!

To find out more about what they have on offer then please visit the Forest Foodie website.

It may not seem like it currently but we have plenty of long sunny days ahead of us this season. Give the Solent Rib Charter team a call on 01590 607101 or email admin@solentribcharter.co.uk to book in a charter day out.
